July 2016 , the event titled “ Global Perspectives of the Azerbaijan religious tolerance and Multiculturalism model
as a bridge between East and West” , was held with the support of the Yarats
Friends at Yarat Contemporary Art Space.The head of International Multicultural Network
Khayala Mammadova stated in her opening
speech that the research and promotion of multiculturalism which has become the
way of life of people and adopted as the state policy in the “Year of
multiculturalism” are very important and
she highly emphasized the activity of the International
Multicultural Network in this area.
Bjorn Geldhof, Artistic Director of YARAT Contemporary Art Space and Hokuma Karimova, Head of PR and Communications Department at YARAT Contemporary Art Space noted the importance of the events related to multiculturalism in Azerbaijan, formation of intercultural relations, peace, tranquility in an atmosphere of mutual dialogue, transformation of multiculturalism into lifestyle among citizens, to remain tolerant to the principles of national policy and be a model for the other countries, mixture of cultures for centuries and existence of necessary political and social conditions for the last years in Azerbaijan. They highlighted that multiculturalism is an inalienable part of the lives of the Azerbaijani people.
Addressing the event, Vusal Guliyev, Head of Youth Sector of Social and
Political Department at the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Seymur Orujov, Chairman of the Youth Union of New Azerbaijan Party , Nariman Gasymoglu, head of the analytical department of the Baku Multiculturalism Center , Nuriyya Mammadova, head of Division for Cooperation with International Organizations,Ministry
of Culture and Tourism, Nijat Mammadli , Head
of International Relations Department at The State Committee on
Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nargiz Khalaf, head of Integration of Azerbaijani Youth to Europe and others by their speech safely stated the Azerbaijani multiculturalism has become
one of the major strokes of the political image of the country and thanked to the policy of multiculturalism and the
progress achieved in this regard, Azerbaijan is an example for the countries of
the world, including Western countries, known for their rich experience in this
field.
After speech of invited guests, Khayala
Mammadova informed about the projects implemented by the International Multicultural Network in this direction and notified the importance of these projects in the preservation of national and moral
values and the promotion of principles of multiculturalism on an international level.
Multiculturalism around the World: Photo&Poster Contest -2016” -is an
international contest for either posters or photographs reflects the aims and
objectives of the 2016 Multiculturalism Year in Azerbaijan, and entries should
relate to the idea of multiculturalism and embracing diversity. This is open to
all participants, both professional and amateur, and regardless of age, gender
or nationality.
“Multiculturalism
and The Religious Tolerance: Global
Perspectives of the Azerbaijan’s Multiculturalism model”- The paper competition for students,
researchers , policy makers, university executives, multicultural center staff
and advanced masters students in Azerbaijan. The competition topics
analyze the case of religious tolerance and multicultural
education adapt to social changes other
than those deriving from ethnic or racial differences, such as technological
change, economic developments, historical events, national identity and the
inculcation of citizenship, and such adaptation is also “cultural”.
IMN Country Representatives. They are 50 IMN representatives are group of researchers and scholars strongly committed to assisting IMN retain ethnic and culturally diverse representatives. Representatives have been the heart of the Network since its founding. We aim to promote and disseminate
research on the multifaceted multicultural agenda and support for the
community comprised of scholars, state and community actors
specializing in the fields of multiculturalism, intercultural and
interreligious relations across diverse disciplines and geographical
regions
